2013 Acura RDX Concept

The little sport-ute may have been too much too early. It has not been a tremendous success, but nowhere near the flop that is the ZDX. To re-invigorate sales of the 2013 RDX there are serious amount of mechanical changes, with only minor exterior refinements. Those subtle exterior changes can be seen in this Concept just revealed. Not much of a concept as we’ve been told that it’s a running prototype, and production models will be at dealerships before this summer.

Gone is the 240-bhp turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four and overly complex and heavy SH-AWD (Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive). In its place will be a more powerful and fuel efficient V-6. The all-wheel drive will remain, but in a much simpler concept without the super-handling portion. The result will be a lighter, faster, less expensive and more efficient 2013 RDX. Whether it drives as nimbly as its more intelligent turbocharged predecessor will have to be seen. As will buyer interest.
